"Wool and Flower Day Live" in Taipei ends with great success

I remember well the day I first met Wool and Hana.
The director of Yomo to Ohana invited me to see their live performance at least once, so I went to a cafe called "Cafe Suite" in Shibuya.

About 10 years ago, when Yomo and Hana were formed, Shibuya was in the midst of a cafe boom. There were also many live performances at cafes.
They were popular as bearers of such music, and were always busy, repeating live performances in various places. I have also performed with him several times.
However, they were troubled under such circumstances. Of course, it's fun now. But I think what we want to do is something much bigger.
Create songs that reach the hearts of those who listen to them even more than now. And what should I do to sing?
For that reason, it is impossible to avoid the themes of life, life and love. But universal themes are very difficult. If you are a professional musician, it is a big wall that you will definitely hit.
So when I was called in as a producer, the first thing I decided was to get involved from the core zone of wool and heart.
Producers, as we call them in Japan, mainly assist in sound making (arranging songs), but we decided to go beyond that framework and intervene between the two and be thoroughly involved.
Almost every day (for half a year), I listened to the demo sound source over the phone, exchanged detailed emails, and continued rewriting the songs and lyrics.
At the band rehearsal before recording, I sat next to the players and listened carefully.
The finished work is the album "Tsukimigusa".
That's why I can call this album a masterpiece now without any cloudiness. I think we both did really well.
There was one thing that left a strong impression on me during production. Ohana-san said, "I have nothing to sing."
Of course, if you're an athletic singer, you don't have to sing anything. You can put all your energy into just the act of singing.
There are many people in the world who can make good songs, so all you have to do is search for good songs.
Music should be fun. You don't have to force yourself to sing.
But I thought she just didn't notice.

I am sorry to have surprised you with this report. I, Chiba Hana, was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2012 and underwent surgery. I didn't have any chemotherapy treatment so I was able to recover quickly and go back to work. However, one year later, in September 2013, a recurrence from the same location was discovered. It was about a month before the 10th anniversary concert, and I was at a loss as to whether or not to cancel the live, but this time I decided to treat myself with oriental medicine. I was able to finish it safely. After that, I thoroughly performed diet therapy and Chinese medicine, but my physical strength gradually declined, and in June 2014, I decided to undergo another surgery. After the operation, I returned to my parents' house and was recuperating at home, but my condition worsened. When I went to a local hospital in November 2014, I was told that there was no other treatment that would cure me. . Since the beginning of 2015, oxygen masks have become indispensable, and I am no longer able to go out in a wheelchair, and I am no longer able to eat. At this point, I realize that I have less than a month left to live. In the midst of this, my partner Yomo, my manager and best friend Nanako Koyama, and my friends and local colleagues, Grava, also came from Tokyo, and my heart was lifted. I don't tell most people about my illness. So it may be a lot of people who were water in the middle of the day. I really wanted to heal. I have always hoped that I could write a book about my experiences and encourage others who are suffering from similar illnesses. But I don't want to write a sad book, so I will give up. People are funny. I realized that I could understand that I was dying. After that enlightenment, my mood cleared and I felt very comfortable. Originally, I didn't think of people dying as sad. [Obituary] Wool and story
Hana Chiba, the vocalist of "Wool and Flower" passed away at 2:00 pm on April 8th.
In the summer of 2012, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had an early detection. I was allowed to. However, from around the spring of 2014, my physical strength became severe and I had to undergo long-term medical treatment. Earlier this year, a doctor told his family that he did not have much time to live, and I heard that he spent his last days happily with his husband and parents in his hometown of Toyama.
Due to the wishes of the person himself and his family, we have refrained from reporting his medical condition to everyone, and we have caused you to worry.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who loved the singing voice of the deceased and to everyone involved.
In addition, according to the will of the deceased, the funeral was held only by close relatives.
