Satoshi Yuki to write the theme song for the movie "Hikari wo Chasete"!

Satoshi Yuki, a creator who faces “living” through expression and shakes the emotions for “living” through expression,
Tsubasa Nakagawa and Itsuki Nagasawa, one of the teenage actors who are expected to make a big leap this year, will star, and Rina Ikoma and Toshiro Yanagiba will also appear.
Wrote the theme song "Kokoro Soru" for the movie "Hikari wo Chasete".

The movie Chasing Hikari tells the story of vulnerable adolescent boys and girls and adults against the backdrop of the beautiful countryside of Akita, where depopulation is progressing.
Akira Nakagawa was played by Tsubasa Nakagawa from "Boku Dake ga Inai Machi", and Tatsuki Nagasawa from "Destruction Day" played heroine Maki Okamoto. In addition, Toshiro Yanagiba from Akita Prefecture will play the role of Maki's uncle, and Rina Ikoma will play the role of Akira's homeroom teacher. Sena Nakajima, who has attracted a lot of attention for appearing in a commercial for Pocari Sweat, as well as Taro Suruga and Hayato Onozuka (Gekidan EXILE), will also be appearing in this work, attracting a lot of attention.
Directed by Yoichi Narita, who was born in Akita and has worked on many TV commercials.

In the trailer, Akira moves to a town that has lost its light and is forced to become an adult, Maki who refuses to become an adult, and the students who are saddened by the closing of the school. Adults such as Akira's father, Maki's uncle, Hideo, and the closed school teacher, Miharu, are also shown the conflicts of each other as the rice swells in the wind and swirls like a crop circle. What is the fate that Akira and Maki, who run after Hikari, face? And what will Hideo and other grown-ups choose as they worry about their future as rice farmers? Crop circle, it is "ritual to the future". Crop circles lead people to the future and make them grow. The feelings contained in the "light" depicted in the title and depicted in the play create a refreshing and moving story that penetrates the hearts of the viewers. Even in the poster visual, along with the impressive copy of "Don't wish for the light" and "Become the light", Akira and Maki and others have expressions that hide their thoughts.

<<Comment from Satoshi Yuki>>
I will make a theme song. After that, my first thought was to go to Akita. was. I had no connection with Akita at all, so I wondered if I should write about it.
Adults and children, inside and outside, light and shadow.
I think it's a song that can be linked to the thoughts and hearts of a wide range of people, not to mention those who watched the movie.
By all means, I want you to chew a lot of songs together with the movie...
I love Akita.

<<Comment from director Yoichi Narita>>
I didn't really think about the theme song for the movie. The background for the end credits was going to be a black screen and just the morning school sound effects. I didn't want the music to interfere with the afterglow of the story.
However, during the editing process, it was decided to include video instead of a black screen. In that case, it would be useless if I didn't include the theme song. However, I strongly felt that I didn't want to destroy the world view of the movie by playing the song, and I didn't want to include it unless it was a song that amplifies the audience's lingering impression.

Originally, I knew about Satoshi Yuki.
The song had such a mercilessness that it grabbed the weakness that was hidden in the depths of one's heart and thrust it right in front of one's eyes. My heart trembled. If this person has "skin of the heart", it is infinitely thin, sensitive to anything it touches, even the wind, and always feels a tingling pain. It's painful... I felt the charm of such despair in her songs.

The world view of my movie and the world view of her song definitely match, but is there a future there? I had that kind of anxiety. However, while listening to her various songs over and over again, I felt a faint light in each song. There is a future. It's dangerous, but I think it's fun to commit suicide. When I thought that, I was strangely uplifted, and I came to think that she was the only one, so I decided to ask.

The moment I met her for the first time, ah, I thought so. I don't have to worry anymore. I decided to leave it to this person's "skin of the heart".

After seeing the movie, I headed to Akita and showed her around the filming locations at her request. She watched, sniffed, and sometimes said lines that she had memorized as if she were savoring each scene of the movie.
The most memorable one is on the roof. The two of us climbed up and talked for about an hour, smelling the grassy scent of the mowing. I don't remember the content. It seems that they were probably exchanging honest words that came to mind. That was probably enough.

After that, I came up with the idea of “understanding”.

It's a work that I've watched over and over again over the years of editing, but when this song came along with the end credits, I thought, ah, it's finally finished. At the same time, the word “fate” came to mind. Yes, it was fate after all.

The promotional copy for "Chasing the Light" was "Don't wish for the light, become the light." Actually, the words came to mind after the movie was completed, in other words, after the theme song was included in the credits. That's exactly what I wanted to convey in this movie. I feel like "understanding" guided me.
